History
Holistic therapies not only focus on tense, tight and sore muscles, it also takes into account a client’s emotional and spiritual wellbeing. These type of treatments have been used for thousands of years by ancient civilisations in china, Egypt and India. The term “holistic” derives from the ancient Greek word “holos,” which means “whole.” By definition, Holistic Massage treats the whole body as a single entity, and is specifically tailored to each client.
How holistic therapies work
Illnesses and stress not only effect are our physical well being but also affects our emotional, spiritual and mental well-being. Holistic Massage allows the body’s natural healing abilities to come forth and balance the entire body as a whole. A series of massage techniques are applied to the body which stimulates the blood and lymphatic circulation. This bringings fresh oxygen and nutrients to bodies tissues and helps the removal of waste products from the the body. Holistic Treatments are becoming an ever more popular choices of treatment with clients in today’s demanding fast pace life style.
These type of treatments are generally gentle and rhythmical and conducted in a warm, cozy room with calming music, sympathetic lighting, and dependent on the treatment, in either a seated or lying position. Before any holistic treatment is carried out a thorough consultation is completed.

Thai Foot Massage
Thai foot massage is thought to be around 2000 years old and is centered around the belief that the body has energy lines which run through the feet. The body's energy flow is rebalanced by the stimulation of these energy lines within the foot. The expulsion of stagnant, negative energy is replaced by positive energy, promoting a sense of calmness and positive wellbeing. This treatment is recommended for anyone feeling emotionally or physically drained, who have poor circulation or stiff joints and anyone who enjoys having their feet massaged.
During the treatment the lights will be dimmed, the room will be filled with the smell of aromatic oils and sound of soothing music to help you to relax, unwind and drift off. The treatment starts with a foot soak and exfoliation, followed by a sequence of stretches to loosen the ankle joints, the foot and calf muscles. The massage part of the treatment is then administered by the therapist using their hands first starting with the foot, then working on the lower leg up to the knee. The reflex points, found on the sole of the foot, are then stimulated using a wooden Thai stick, which help to promote general health and wellbeing.

Indonesian Manda Lula Massage
Indonesian massage is a mix of both Chinese and Ayurvedic massage methods that are thought to date back to more than 4000 years, and has a healing, revitalizing, calming and soothing effect on the body and mind. It is a great treatment if you need to relax and unwind from daily stressors, which many of us experience in this modern world.
This 90 minute treatment encompasses a full body exfoliation, massage and moisturise.
The exfoliation process helps the body to shed old skin cells and stimulate the rejuvenation of new skin. The oils used during the massage together with the moisturiser that's applied at the end of the treatment, improves the skin's texture and elasticity leaving the skin looking brighter, radiant and feeling lovely and soft.
The massage part of the treatment is performed along the Meridian Lines of the body. It is a deep and rhythmic massage, which aims to remove blockages within the Meridian Lines thus restoring the body’s natural energy flow.
Like all other body massage treatments this treatment also has positive effects on the body's internal systems. Muscle tension is soothed, blood pressure is lowered and lymphatic drainage is improved. These positive effects help to boost our immune system and reduce stress levels which collectively can all help to combat signs of aging.

Indian barbers have also made head massages part of their cutting treatments for men.
